Still on hold

Okay i know many of you are wondering about my sister. As of right now I cannot tell you anything due to her want for privacy. She is still in the hospital and is recovering faster then we thought. When I have permission to release it to the public I will.

When i continue, I will have to walk about 25-35 miles a day instead of the 21 we thought. I will have to catch up to were I'm supposed to be. Also my mother may be staying here in Virginia with my sister, so I will have someone else follow me instead. I as of right now have nothing else to report to you. I will continue to blog, more on the Walk then now.

Thank you all who are following my journey and who are concerned about my family,

David Ashby

  7. David,
We are glad to hear your sister is doing better, and really excited to know you are resuming you walk tomorrow. We want you to know that we are very proud of you and you have already rasied much awareneess across the nation and beyond. Be careful, if you don't make it all the way, we'll understand and you still accomplished your larger objective. We will continue to pray for your family and your safety.
    Much love, and God bless,

  8. David,
I am still very proud of what you are doing, but want to encourage you to continue to think about family first. I know you are and that you are with your sister. They need you the most at this time. We all know you want to get back to your walk, but please think of the awareness you have already raised just by starting out on the journey. You are a remarkable young man and will go far in life. Please let us know what we can do for you or your family. Keep us posted. My prayers continue to be with you and your family.

  10. David,

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm Chair of the Seminole Action Coalition Serving Our Needy, a faith-supported group in the Sanford area addressing the challenges of homelessness in our area. We, too, are trying to bring more attention to the issue of homelessness (more than 1,100 children in the Seminole County Public School System are considered homeless.)

I've found inspiration in your story and have posted your blog and articles about you on our blog.

Please consider this an invitation to join us for a meeting (2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford, beginning at 630 pm) so we can hear more about your journey.

    Be safe in your travels.

Please know that you did right to attend to your family. When you resume, maybe some bikers can help along the way.
